Practice Pearl - Please do not routinely report gender on fetal US

At the October 2017 Peer Learning Conference, we discussed a request from our referring providers and patients to not routinely include the gender in fetal ultrasound reports.  Patients desiring to not know the gender of their fetus sometimes saw the gender in the fetal ultrasound report.  We agreed to not routinely report the fetal gender on fetal US exams.  Please only report the gender in uncommon situations when the gender may assist in the management of an abnormality.
